COBRA was first held in and has been held almost every year since, acting as a key event for the presentation and discussion of the latest research in the built environment. The American Real Estate Society was founded in to produce and disseminate knowledge related to real estate decision-making and markets.

Members are drawn from both academia and the profession. Attendance and presentation of research papers at the COBRA track is open to all academic researchers, PhD students and industry professionals. Papers to be presented at the conference will be selected and edited through a three-steps process:. Authors can submit more than one abstract, and a maximum of five authors can be associated with each abstract.

Papers must be written in plain English and no longer than 10 A4 pages. Each full paper will be reviewed "blindly" by two academic researchers, selected on the basis of their expertise from an international pool. Registration fees are shown on the ARES page.
